Kwila's natural stability and high resistance to splitting provides for a very high quality finish of exceptional durability which can remain permanently outdoors in all types of harsh climates and weather conditions.
The Australian Department of Primary Industries has given Kwila timber a Rating One, which is the highest standard of suitability for outdoor timber furniture for its hardiness and longevity, it also as it has a natural beauty and charm.
Our supplier apply a quality oil finish to all of its timer products. You may wish to apply another coat of oil in the first month depending on the level of exposure to the elements. As a guide if your furniture is fully exposed you may need to oil 4-5 times per year or 2-3 times per year for furniture that is shaded somewhat, however climate and appearance of the timber will also help determine frequency of oiling.
If your furniture is not oiled, prolonged exposure to weather will turn the colour of your timber to a silver grey and hairline cracks may develop in the timber.
